7 Wonders is a strategy game with rich and simple rules, easy to set up for fast games with a comfortable rhythm. To start the game, each of the 2 to 7 players takes leadership of a mythical city (Babylon, Ephesus, Rhodes…), and will have three Ages to make it prosper and even build the legendary Wonder of the world which is associated with it.
At the beginning of an Age, each player gets a hand of 7 cards from which they'll choose, at the same time as the other players, the one they'll play. Each card may be played in one of three ways: face up, by paying its cost to add it to their game area and benefit from its effects; face down under their board, by paying the cost of the stage of the wonder which will also earn them advantages and/or victory points; or else by discarding it to gain 3 gold and fill their treasury. The cards belong to one of 6 great families which will allow players to develop their resources, battle, trade, and favor sciences or the arts. Once the cards have been played, each player passes their remaining cards to the player next to them (to the right or to the left, depending on the current Age) to choose a new one, and so on, until they only have two cards left in hand.
After having played the second to last card and discarded the last one, the current Age ends and the players resolve millitary conflicts with their neighbors before moving on to the next Age. At the end of the 3rd and final Age, the player with the most victory points wins the game.
